《钢之炼金术师》（日语：鋼の錬金術師），简称钢炼（ハガレン），荒川弘的漫画作品，先后于2003年及2009年被BONES制作成动画。
故事发生在一个炼金术相当发达的世界，在这个世界的“炼金术”，是以理解物质的内在的法则：理解，分解，再构造成立，进行炼金术必须按照“等价交换”法则：为了获得某种东西，需要以同等的代价交换，代价不够的话便需要以自己的任何部份（身体的一部分、记忆等等）被作为代价的填补而被拿走。爱德华·艾尔利克和他弟弟阿尔冯斯·艾尔利克十分思念在他们还小的时候亡故的母亲，为了再次见到母亲，进行了炼金术中最大的禁忌——人体炼成。可是因为炼成时的反噬，阿尔则失去了全身，爱德失去了左脚，为了换回弟弟，爱德华牺牲自己的右手作为代价将弟弟的灵魂炼成，并将弟弟阿尔冯斯的灵魂固定在一副铠甲上。从此爱德华和阿尔冯斯为了取回他们所失去的一切，开始踏上了找回自己身体的旅程。爱德华失去的右臂和左腿由钢制义肢“机械铠”来替代，因此被授予“钢”的称号，故被称为“钢之炼金术师”。
